After quite a long hiatus, I'm writing again. Hard to believe that the last time I wrote was seven months ago....and oh so much has happened since then. God is so good.
One of my last posts was a sneak-peak at my trip to Sierra Leone. Well, 8 months later, I'm headed back to Africa!! In early September I will be traveling with this great looking group of people to Zambia. The purpose of the trip is to study nursing in another culture, but I have a feeling it will become so much more...Why? Because I serve a God whose plans are wonderfully crazy and more than what I can ask or imagine.
Let me give you a preview of how God's hand was on this trip from the get-go......
The week I got back from Sierra Leone I felt the Lord putting Zambia on my heart. I was thinking, Father, I didn't apply to begin with and now the trip is full, but if it's your will for spots to open up and for me to apply, then you'll make it super clear....
So one day during worship in chapel I clearly felt the Lord speaking to me about Zambia. After chapel, I checked my e-mail and saw that a couple of spots had opened up...I'd say that's pretty clear. So I applied and was accepted...joining a stellar team.
I am unbelievably blessed to be spending three months with these students and professors. I am overwhelmed by a sense of peace and unspeakable joy when I think about this opportunity....Praise God for the chance to return to Africa for the second time in one year.
